Coldplay a hot ticket / Offers of sex, iPods follow rush of fans to box office for British band's Fillmore show

I saw Coldplay front row center in Philly when they played the TLA in August four summers ago. That was one of the best shows ever.

someday we'll know...

This song just came onto the internet radio station I am listening to (now it's onto Sting - woohoo) and I forgot how much I love this song by the New Radicals.

90 miles outside Chicago
Can't stop driving
I don't know why
So many questions
I need an answer
Two years later you're still on my mind
Whatever happened to Amelia Earhart
Who holds the stars up in the sky
Is true love once in a lifetime
Did the captain of the titanic cry
Someday we'll know
If love can move a mountain
Someday we'll know
Why the sky is blue
Someday we'll know
Why I wasn't meant for you
Does anybody know the way to Atlantis
Or what the wind says when she cries
I'm speeding by the place that I met you
For the 97th time tonight
Someday we'll know
If love can move a mountain
Someday we'll know
Why the sky is blue
Someday we'll know
Why I wasn't meant for you
Someday we'll know
Why Samson loved Delilah
One day I'll go
Dancing on the moon
Someday you'll know
That I was the one for you
I bought a ticket to the end of the rainbow
I watched the stars crash in the sea
If I could ask god just one question
Why aren't you here with me
Someday we'll know
If love can move a mountain
Someday we'll know
Why the sky is blue
Someday we'll know
Why I wasn't meant for you
Someday we'll know
Why Samson loved Delilah
One day I'll go
Dancing on the moon
Someday you'll know
That I was the one for you

I saw this reported yesterday. And yes, I still check the Review and Delaware Online religiously. And Brook wrote the article, yay for William Penn bylines.

gasp! what's the big deal?

from popdirt.com:

"Avril Lavigne continued to rapidly spin out of control while being videotaped with three girlfriends leaving a club in Los Angeles the other night. The singer was being held up by her pals, littered, began smoking, stuck her tongue out and spit at a the videographer, and was finally driven away. Watch the clip, with plenty of expletives throughout, from Lulop. "

Seriously, that isn't much different from most of my weekends, but mine don't end up being talked about. Well, I don't smoke though. Though Steve did say this to me today: "At least you got to add another location to your global puke tracking system. You should start the motto...'If Ihaven't thrown up there, it's not worth seeing.'"

saturday night and my drive home

Like my laptop, I am portable, and in the past twelve hours, I have been in New York, NY; Hoboken, NJ; Pennsauken, NJ; Philly, PA; Newark, DE; and Baltimore, MD. The show last night was great. Honestly’s disc is awesome, but their live show is ten times better. I did forget my studded belt at home and for the first time in a while, I felt old at a show. I did not get Nine til’ Midnight, but they rocked all the same. I almost had a heart attack when I noticed that Honestly ganked the LDE shirt design that the girls and I made the other day. We were throwing around ideas for cool shirt designs and one was worthy enough for Anna to actually draw out and detail. We even had the colors and everything. As I was scanning the crowd I noticed an almost exact replica of the shirt we had designed. I immediately had to text Ang in Boston, who was at the Todd Martin show. How cool – we’re all on the east coast supporting our bands. Epler and I went to the back fro Eleven 54 and Morita disappeared to the green room to score guestlist spots for us for next week’s show with Third Eye Blind. I hope he wasn’t a slut and kept his pants on. He did come back victorious though. We’ll go with the old adage, “what happens backstage, stays backstage.” We left Fletcher’s and strolled around Fell’s Point in search of food. The only place that served food and not booze was a pizza place, upon entering I realized I had spent my 23rd birthday there. Haha, what a fun day. I had the not so good idea of putting hot sauce on my broccoli and mushroom pizza. We called it a night around 1 and headed home. We almost died. Honestly. Morita tried to scooch between the concrete barriers and a swerving car. I lost feeling in my toes and tried to grab anything in site – which was the “oh shit bar” and the seatbelt because I figured that grasping onto anything would save my life. Morita said that I was allowed to blog our near death experience. We’ll just forget about the bald tires. 2 AM is an excellent time to harmonize to Omnisoul. We also spun Ingram Hill, the Honestly songs we didn’t hear, The Perishers, The Veils, and whenever you hear Tool on the radio, it must be turned off immediately. Sleep at 3:30 AM, woke up at 9:20 AM – I love the weekend.

i would lose my head if it was't attached

I am notorious for losing my keys. Last weekend was the epitome of me losing things. First off, I lost my cell, only to be retrieved by Dan and Chris. A few hours later, while at a venue in Philly, I realized I had lost my license (to be found the next day on the floor of my apartment). The next morning I couldn’t find my shoes and only an hour ago while talking to Tanya and Morita did I discover that they are in Morita’s trunk. I have no idea how they even got there. I could have sworn that I wore them to the Grape, so maybe I went barefoot to Tanya’s?!!? No idea! But at least they’re found. Also that weekend I lost my cell phone charger. I had just lost my charger in Vermont a month earlier, so I was pretty frustrated. Found out that I left it in NJ, so I bought, or “borrowed” one from the Verizon store, used it for a week, repackaged it, returned it, and now I have my old charger back. I think it was Maryann or Aurora who said that I needed a shirt with Velcro on it so I could just attach my important objects to myself. It wouldn’t be that hot, but I probably wouldn’t be as frustrated as much. Since I have written this blog, Morita has texted me to let me know that I left my iPod USB cord at his place. I’m awesome.

nothing is going right

I am not even going to edit this. I am writing this in Chris’s car going down to Baltimore and I can’t see my keyboard. It’s rainy and dark. I just tried to watch a DVD and apparently my laptop doesn’t want to cooperate. Stupid updates and obviously I don’t get wireless on 95 South. We are listening to Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers. I took FOUR trains to get to Pennsauken today. Then I found out where people die in Pennsauken. They wait by themselves by the desolate train tracks then get thrown into the river behind the tracks. Morita picked me up and we went to his house with the intention to steal music from each other, but his itunes was acting up, so we quit and went to Wawa. Oh, yeah, the first thing that went wrong was that I missed one train because some old douche couldn’t figure out the automatic train ticket machine and I missed my damn train by like thirty seconds and had to wait twenty five minutes for the next one. So that was the first thing that went wrong, the second being the itunes not working. But yay for Wawa. Or no yay for Wawa because dropping hot coffee all over yourself due to bumpy roads kinda sucks. And it hurts. Three things wrong. Then it poured and we skidded a bit. Awesome. Four things. We listened to LDE’s old gem, “Ecstasy Sold Here”, or more like we played a minute of each song…then we were in good ol’ Newark. Yay home. We met up with Maryann and had dinner at DP Dough and waited forty minutes for our dough. Five things wrong. We also took some guys seat and he used the word “usurp”. At this rate, by the time we got our food, Quick Step John would be on stage, so we decided to bring our dough to Trabant and say hi to our guys. We said our quick hellos, ran into Tanya, scarfed our food, and met up with Jay. Oh yeah, and the band Radiowhore sucks. Like, they may be the worst band ever and I only heard two songs. One of which was a Nirvana cover. The guitarist also felt the need to rock out and kick his guitar, which Maryann called more of a punt. But it was still so great to see so many faces in such a short amount of time in Newark: Maryann, Dan, Chris L., Carolina, Tanya, and Jay. So now I am writing this from mile 65 going south on 95 to Fletcher’s in Baltimore. I was telling Morita earlier that I don’t know what I would do if I always stayed home, there is just too much to see, so much going on to stay inside. Instead, there is nothing like going through two entire states to see a band play. But it’s not just about the music – Fletcher’s is a fun place with great memories (Zombies, Aurora?!). Tomorrow is a festival in Hoboken then my mom and I are going to do something random in NYC.
